Travel Knitting

This is, simply, a blog about my knitting. However, I knit A LOT. I knit wherever I sit down.... and that includes any time I am on public transport. I am a non-driving, home educating mum and that means I have a
the added bonus of a lot of knitting time available to me.

I intend to take photos of the random places I can be caught knitting.

So, on with the show. Today's trip: our home in Basildon to Colchester to see family. For those who care, I'm using Cygnet 100% acrylic yarn; I knit within my means, and am allergic to wool... if I had a million pounds I'd knit in nothing but my favorite bamboo/silk or bamboo/cotton blends, but there we go.... In this set of pictures, I'm working on a Kate Davies Owlet for my daughter. It'll be my third KD Owls; I made mine first, Squidge got jealous and demanded one, then the little bean grew... so I'm having to knit her a new one. I'm using a 6.5mm bamboo circular needle that's about 40cm long. I say about, I had to modify it using a craft knife and some superglue. It's a really cheap needle that's still yellow after a disaster with hand dyed yarn last summer (I didn't rinse enough).

11:03 London Liverpool Street to Colchester Town; photo taken just north of Ingatestone.

Sitting at the North Station bus stop, waiting for my mum to collect us.

 In my mum's car. that's my brother's head. he still lives at home. I'm 30, he's 20.

Colchester town centre, Culver Square. outside Superdry, having just imbibed a foot long sausage from the Hot Sausage stand. bit of a rest enroute to Fabric8, my favorite shop in the whole universe.

On the 17:03 Greater Anglia service from Norwich to London Liverpool Street. photo shows my squidgiebean looking REALLY impressed with the whole blog idea. Photo taken just south of Kelvedon, enroute to Shenfield to meet the Manflesh for a lift home.

I often have more than one project on the go at any one time, so it wont always be lovely purple chunky yarn.

TTFN!!!!
